Wilton, Connecticut Connecticut Department of Transportation officials announced today that on Thursday night, September 4, 2008, between 8:00pm and 6:00am Friday morning, the contractor will be shifting traffic on Route 7 between School Road and Pimpewaug Road to construct the eastern side of the roadway and bridge over the Norwalk River. The work will take place, weather permitting, with a rain date scheduled for Friday night, September 5, 2008.

Motorists traveling northbound will be shifted onto new pavement on the west side of the road while motorists traveling southbound will continue straight on the newly constructed pavement.  The realignment is scheduled to remain in place until the spring of 2009.

Motorists should expect delays, as there will be alternating one-way traffic and short, intermittent traffic stoppages as the work takes place.  Wilton police will be available to direct traffic and assist motorists during this time.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
