Stamford, Connecticut The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work at the Route 15 and Route 104 (Long Ridge Road) project in Stamford is scheduled to restart road work on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, weather permitting.

Dayton Construction, contractor for the project, has been working on landscaping in the past weeks and has completed approximately 75% of the plantings and will begin work to address the remaining items that include the removal of the temporary precast barrier curb, the installation of new guide rail systems and anchors, removal of material stockpiles along Route 104 and completion of the reconstruction work at the Route 104 southbound ramp to Route 15 northbound.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 104 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  City Police Officers will be assisting at the work zones to direct motorists around the construction.

This project provides for the replacement and realignment of the exit 34 off ramp with Wire Mill Road.   This existing northbound combination on and off ramp @ exit 34 will be converted to an exclusive northbound on ramp for southbound RT 104 traffic.   In addition to the new off ramp, roadway improvements to Route 104 were part of this Project which included drainage improvements, roadway widening, resurfacing, new traffic signals and safety improvements.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and precede with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
