Reconstruction of I-84
Cheshire and Southington, CT
Cheshire and Southington, CT - The Department of Transportation announced today upcoming interstate lane closures on I-84 in Southington from November 12th through November 16th. These brief lane closures are required to ensure motorist safety during the repair of an existing drainage system.
This work is part of the widening and interchange improvement projects on I-84 in Southington and Cheshire. When completed, the project will provide an additional lane in each direction between Exit 30 (Marion Avenue) in Southington and just east of Exit 27 (I-691 Interchange) in Southington.
Manafort Brothers, Inc. of Plainville, CT, will be performing this work.
Traffic Operations
Expect various shoulder and lane closures on I-84 eastbound between Exit 27 (I-691 westbound on ramp to I-84 eastbound) and Exit 30 (Marion Avenue), weather permitting, between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am.
Construction signs and State Police will be utilized for traffic control.
Motorists should use caution through the work zones and reduce their speed accordingly
