The Department of Transportation announced today, that from October 15, 2007 to March 31, 2008 the Rails to Trails Bikeway will be closed between Tankerhoosen Road and Route 30 in the town of Vernon.
This temporary bikeway closure is required to install an aluminum pipe arch tunnel for the bikeway in conjunction with the replacement of the I-84 bridges over the Rails to Trails Bikeway.
This $5.2 million construction project is being undertaken by the Rotha Contracting Co. Inc. of Avon under contract with the Department of Transportation.
