Corrective Work and Completion of State Project Nos. 151-274/294
Waterbury, CT - The Department of Transportation announced today that, weather permitting, Empire Paving, of North Haven, CT will begin the next stage of construction work on State Project 151-309 on I-84 in the Town of Cheshire and City of Waterbury on October 5, 2007. The stage construction will involve shifting travel lanes, installation of new pavement markings, and the installation of additional precast barrier curb in the median on I-84 in the Eastbound and Westbound directions throughout the project. The project limits are Marion Road in Cheshire to Pierpont Road in Waterbury.
Traffic Operations
The next stage of construction is expected to begin on October 5, 2007 with operations continuing through the weekend.
Work will be performed between the following hours:

6:00 pm through 6:00 am: Overnight a minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in the Eastbound and Westbound directions.

9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.: Traffic may encounter single lane and shoulder closures.
After this weekend, all available lanes for traffic will be maintained between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Motorists are reminded to use caution through the work zones and should reduce their speed accordingly.
Construction signs and State and Local Police will be utilized for traffic control.
