NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Routes 2A and 117, in Preston. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, October 3, 2007 and continue through Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
This project will take place on Route 2A from the end of overlap with Route 12 to Route 117 and on Route 117 from Route 2A to Route 2.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday). No work will take place on Saturdays or Sundays.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
