Corridor Improvement Program
PROJECT #: 92-533
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) is announcing that the setting of structural steel for the new Townsend Avenue bridge in New Haven is scheduled to occur between 9:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. on Thursday, October 4 and Friday, October 5. The work will affect one lane in each direction of I-95 Northbound and I-95 Southbound near Exit 50 (Woodward Avenue). The work is subject to rescheduling if weather conditions are not favorable for the operation.
Traffic on I-95 Northbound and I-95 Southbound near Exit 50 (Woodward Avenue) will be halted for 10-minute intervals several times overnight between 12 midnight until 5:00 a.m. to protect drivers, passengers and pedestrians while the work is performed.
The work is part of Contract C2 of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program. Contract C2 is located in New Haven and consists of the reconstruction of approximately one mile of I-95 just east of Stiles Street in New Haven to the New Haven/East Haven town line. Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2009.
