Route 7 Wilton Reconstruction Project TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION WITHIN PROJECT LIMITS TO 30 MPH
Effective September 19, 2007
Wilton, Connecticut – Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that the State Traffic Commission has approved a temporary reduction of the speed limit within the project limits of the Route 7 Widening and Reconstruction Project in Wilton, due to the continual changes to traffic alignment and the use of temporary lanes and barriers in this area.
The following speed limit reductions will take effect on Wednesday,
September 19, 2007:
- The speed limit will be reduced from 35 mph to 30 mph for both directions on Route 7 from Route 33 northerly to Station Road.
- The speed limit will be reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph for both directions on Route 7 from Station Road northerly to Olmstead Hill Road.
This temporary 30 mph speed limit will be in effect until construction is sufficiently complete to revert back to the original speed limits, as noted above, within the project limits. The Route 7 Widening and Reconstruction Project will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in
April 2010.
Please use caution and follow the posted speed limit when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
