NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Stephen E. Korta, II announced today that a Milling and Resurfacing project will be performed on Routes 151, 196 and SR 609 (Leesville Road), in East Haddam/Haddam. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, September 4, 2007 and continue through Thursday, September 20, 2007.
The work will take place on Route 151 from Route 149 end of overlap to the East Hampton Town Line, and on Route 196 from Route 151 to the East Hampton Town Line. Work will also occur on SR 609 (Leesville Road) from Route 151 to Route 149.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday - Saturday). No work will take place on Sundays.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
