The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) announced today that on or about Monday, August 13, 2007, work will begin on the reconstruction of Hartford Avenue, Newington Avenue and New Britain Avenue in the City of Hartford and Town of Newington.
Empire Paving, Inc. of North Haven, CT, has been awarded a $3,138,929.10 Contract by ConnDOT, which will start on Hartford Avenue in Newington and progress northerly for approximately 3/4 mile to the intersection of Newington Avenue and New Britain Avenue in the City of Hartford.
During allowable periods of construction, motorists may experience periodic temporary shoulder and lane closures, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM. No work will be allowed on Saturday and Sunday.
The scheduled completion date for this project is July 26, 2009.
