NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Gas Main Installation project will be performed on Route 2, (at its junction with Route 214), in Ledyard. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Thursday, July 26, 2007 and continue through Thursday, August 9, 2007.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Sunday - Thursday evenings). No work will be performed on Friday or Saturday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
