NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Culvert Repair project will be performed on Route 140 (Sadds Mill Road), just east of Reeves Road, in Ellington/Somers. This project is scheduled to take place on or about Saturday, July 14, 2007 and continue through Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Route 140 will be closed while the work is being performed and a posted detour will be in effect.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Saturday - Tuesday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
