Traffic Shift on Townsend Avenue Bridge in New Haven Scheduled to Begin on June 19
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) is announcing that the demolition of the eastern half of the Townsend Avenue Bridge in New Haven is scheduled to begin on June 19. Traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed western half of the bridge beginning Tuesday, June 19 at 9:00p.m. the shift will remain in effect until further notice.
The work is part of Contract C2 of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program. Contract C2 is located in New Haven and consists of the reconstruction of approximately one mile of I-95 just east of Stiles Street in New Haven to the New Haven/East Haven town line. Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2009.
