State Project 101-109 Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 05457 Detour Period Extended for Route 216 Clarks Falls Road, North Stonington, CT
The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that the detour in place for the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 05457, Rte 216 over Spalding Pond between Pendleton Hill Road and Boom Bridge Road will need to remain in place longer than anticipated. During construction, it was found that the substructure was more deteriorated than anticipated and the Department is re-evaluating the entire structure condition.
The detour is anticipated to be in place until mid-July. Detour signs are posted to re-route motorists traveling on Route 216 onto Routes 49 and 184 to bypass closed portion of Route 216 as alternate routes. The detour guides motorists traveling on route 216 Motorists traveling on Route 216 will be guided onto Routes 49 and 184 as alternate routes.
