NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Roadway Clearing project will be performed on Route 2 (east & west), in Ledyard, Preston and North Stonington.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, April 23, 2007 and continue through Tuesday, June 30, 2007.

This project will occur on Route 2 from Route 164 in Preston to Wintechog Hill Road in North Stonington.                               

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Sunday - Saturday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
