4/20/2018Construction Activities to Begin on Route 15 Northbound and Southbound Between Exits 40 & 41 in Norwalk
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of Project 102-356 in the City of Norwalk beginning Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Project 102-356 consists of the rehabilitation of the West Rocks Road Bridge over the Merritt Parkway. Work includes demolition and replacement of the existing bridge superstructure.
 
4/18/2018CTDOT Awards Contract for I-84 Waterbury ‘Mixmaster’ Rehab
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation has selected Walsh Construction to perform $152.9 million in repairs and rehabilitation for the Route 8 / I-84 interchange in Waterbury, popularly known as the “Mixmaster.” There are 10 separate bridges involved in this project.
 
4/18/2018Guiderail Upgrades – West Haven, New Haven, Easton, Monroe, Oxford, Seymour, Woodbridge and Wallingford
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the upgrading of guiderails along Routes 1, 59, 67 and 68. Work is scheduled to begin on or about April 18, 2018. The project consists of the upgrading of guiderail systems on Routes 1, 59, 67 and 68 in the towns of West Haven, New Haven, Easton, Monroe, Oxford, Seymour, Woodbridge and Wallingford. The project also includes the removal of select trees that fall within clear zones along these routes.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the temporary closure of the I-384 WB off ramp to Route 6/44. This closure is necessary for the installation of a pedestrian bridge over the Route 6/44 off-ramp in the Bolton. Detour signs will be posted. Access will be provided for local businesses.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to replace the T-type intersections, at the northerly and southerly convergence of Route 82 and Route 154, with modern roundabouts in the Town of Haddam.
 
4/16/2018Relocation of Edmond Road at Route 6 in Newtown
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activity will begin on April 23, 2018, for the relocation of Edmond Road at Route 6 in Newtown. Work will include a geosynthetic reinforced soil integrated bridge system to span approximately 60 feet of wetland.
 
4/16/2018Capacity and Operational Improvements on Route 69 In the Vicinity of Route 15 in Woodbridge and New Haven
  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work, including minimal widening along Route 69, milling and paving, intersection improvements and new signalization, will be performed along Route 69 and seven (7) adjoining roadways (Lucy Street, Merritt Ave., Rte. 15 SB On-Ramp, Rte. 15 SB Off-Ramp, Pond Lily Ave., Rte. 15 NB Off-Ramp and the intersection with Whalley Ave). Work is scheduled to proceed on April 16th, 2018.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the nightly closures of Exit 84, I-95 southbound off-ramp to Route 32 and Downtown New London. The exit will be closed nightly Monday through Friday, 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, beginning April 9, 2018, and continue through April 20, 2018, as part of the ongoing I-95 southbound Gold Star Bridge rehabilitation project, in Groton and New London. A signed detour will be maintained while the ramp is closed.

As construction activity on the project ramps up for 2018 season, motorists traveling on the Merritt Parkway between the Congress Street overpass in Fairfield to the Newtown Turnpike overpass in Westport can expect nightly northbound and southbound lane closures to occur.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that there will be an I-84 westbound closure and detour at the Exit 23 off-ramp, for three nights, to facilitate structural steel installation on the Hamilton Avenue Bridge.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge work will be performed on Route 291 westbound in Windsor, overnight Thursday, January 18, to the morning of Friday, January 19, 2018. This bridge, No. 6225, goes over I-91. Route 291 traffic will be detoured.
