| | The Division of Special Revenue will be closed Thursday, November 26, 2009, for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Division will also be closed on Friday, November 27, 2009 a furlough day.
Although the Newington office will be closed the Division will still maintain a presence in its field offices at OTB and the casinos as well as at lottery drawings. The Division Headquarters building will reopen on Monday, November 30, 2009.

| | Under the terms of Public Act 09-3, the biennial state budget, certain fees of the Division of Special Revenue will increase on October 1, 2009. The Division will accept the current, lower fee for each application that arrives at Division headquarters on or before September 30, 2009. Each application that the Division receives beginning on October 1 must be accompanied by the new, higher fee. |

| | ATTORNEY GENERAL AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DSR ANNOUNCE $25 MILLION SETTLEMENT WITH TRIBES OVER DISPUTED SLOT REVENUE
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and Paul A. Young, executive director of the Division of Special Revenue (DSR), today announced identical settlements with the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes that would provide $25 million in slot revenue to the state, as well as future payments.
The settlements would resolve the state’s lawsuit against the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe seeking slot revenue collected through a promotional program known as “Free Play” in which Foxwoods provided certain patrons coupons or electronic credits that permit them to play slot machines free up to the value of the credits.
