To assist agencies with Information Technology Disaster Recovery (ITDR) Planning, DOIT is offering services that will help an agency:
1) Identify the potential impact of the loss of IT on an Agency’s ability to deliver mission critical services and conduct business operations (Business Impact Analysis);
2) Assess the ability of IT to recover from a potential disaster that affects its critical systems, applications, and data;
3) Determine remediation steps that will reduce the gap between business needs and IT disaster recovery capabilities;
4) Develop, implement and test an IT Disaster Recovery Plan;
5) Store vital records off-site; and
6) Store recovery plans and procedures in an electronic repository.
DOIT conducts semi-annual DR Exercises that test the backup and recovery processes and procedures of selected infrastructure, systems, and services that run in the DOIT Data Center in East Hartford, CT. The systems are recovered at the IBM/BCRS site in Sterling Forest, NY. Controlled remote access to recovered systems from DOIT is enabled during the DR Exercise. Agencies are invited to participate.
