The Security Risk Group/Gang Mangement Unit is responsible for proactively collecting, evaluating and disseminating security related gang intelligence on the 11 designated Security Risk Groups that exist among the offender population. This Unit continues to work closely with local law enforcement agencies, the Connecticut State Police and federal authorities in the investigation of gang related crimes, not only to prevent potentially dangerous incidents within our facilities, but also as a proven benefit to public safety. Personnel within this Unit function as part of the Connecticut Department of Correction nationally recognized model for gang management within correctional agencies.
