All privileged/professional visits shall be reasonably accommodated. A valid driver's license and a professional credential shall be required for any professional not on the visitor's list. Please note that the professional credentials that are presented will be checked against the index of attorneys admitted to the Connecticut bar that is posted on the State Judicial Branch website. 

Attorney Client Visiting Guidelines

Privileged and professional visits may be accommodated with private visits, if appropriate. When a questionable circumstance arises regarding accommodation of the professional visitor, the shift supervisor, in consultation with the Duty Officer, shall personally investigate the situation using face to face contact, and obtain any additional information necessary to try to accommodate the visit. If a privileged/professional visit is denied, the Shift Supervisor or higher authority shall complete an incident report, in accordance with Administrative Directive 6.6, Reporting of Incidents. Stating the reason(s) for the denial; the incident shall be reported as a Class 3 incident.

Provided is a list of primary and secondary telephone contacts for each DOC facility with the name of the staff person responsible for scheduling privileged and professional visits. In addition, the facility count times are provided.

Bergin Correctional Institution
