CONSUMER CREDIT DIVISION ACTIVITY
On January 26, 2017, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with Hylan Debt Fund LLC – Portfolio Series 66
(NMLS # 1486487) (“Hylan Debt Fund”), Dover, Delaware. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, the Commissioner alleged that Hylan Debt Fund acted within this state as a consumer collection agency without the requisite consumer collection agency license, in violation of Section 36a-801(a) of the 2016 Supplement to the General Statutes. As part of the Consent Order, among other things, Hylan Debt Fund paid $15,000 as a civil penalty.
On February 2, 2017, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with Equity Prime Mortgage LLC d/b/a Equity Prime Mortgage f/k/a Equity Loans LLC
(“Equity Prime”) (NMLS # 21116), Atlanta, Georgia. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, the Commissioner alleged that Equity Prime failed to file with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry a change of its name at least 30 calendar days prior to such change and, in connection with such name change, failed to provide a bond rider or endorsement, or addendum, as applicable, to the surety bond on file with the Commissioner, in violation of Section 36a-490(b) of the Connecticut General Statutes. As part of the Consent Order, Equity Prime paid $500 as a civil penalty.
