Branch Activity

Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that each application for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. NEW BANK ACTIVITY

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-70 of the Connecticut General Statutes, on February 15, 2000, an application was filed by the organizer of The Community's Bank for the establishment of a state bank and trust company in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The organizer is Peter F. Hurst, Jr., 237 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10017, (212) 719-4160.

CHECK CASHING SERVICE LICENSE ACTIVITY

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36a-581(d) of the Connecticut General Statutes, on February 23, 2000, Connecticut State Check Cashing Services, Inc. applied to relocate its licensed check cashing service general facility from 107 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut to 103 Maple Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut.

ACQUISITION

On February 23, 2000, pursuant to Sections 36a-412(b) and 36a-210(g) of the Connecticut General Statutes, the Banking Commissioner approved the application of Connecticut Bank of Commerce to acquire a significant part of the assets and business of MTB Bank.
