DOAG: Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries

Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries
2016 Passport Year: May 6 to November 6, 2016
{passport no year cover.jpg}

This year, we have 34 Connecticut farm wineries and the Connecticut wine festival at Goshen Fairgrounds participating in the Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries Program.  The Passport, as it’s aptly called, encourages people to obtain 16 of the potential 35 stamps to enter to win a number of prizes including a two-week trip for two to Spain!*

To get started, pick up a Passport at any of the participating Connecticut farm wineries.  It's FREE to participate - there's no fee to obtain a Passport or get a stamp in your Passport.

Once you have a Passport, tour around Connecticut visiting farm wineries while collecting stamps along the way.  The Connecticut Farm Winery Pinterest page  or state tourism website will help you plan your travels.

Once at least 16 stamps are obtained, submit your Passport to any participating Connecticut farm winery for the grand prize drawing held in early December. The drawing for the 2016 prizes will be held December 8th, weather permitting.

You'll find similar programs in New Jersey, Maryland, and the Finger Lakes of NY, but only Connecticut's Passport Program offers two international, two-week trips for two people as a prize option!

Grand Prize #1: A two-week trip for two, including airfare and lodging, to Benalmadena Palace, Hotel and Spa in Benalmádena Costa, Málaga, Spain, the first two weeks of February (from February 6 - February 19, 2017).

Grand Prize #2:  A two-week trip for two, including airfare and lodging, Benalmadena Palace, Hotel and Spa in Benalmádena Costa, Málaga, Spain from mid-February to early March (February 20 - March 5, 2017).

First Prize: A limousine wine tour on a Sunday of your choice for eight people to Connecticut wineries.  Prize provided by Gateway Limousines.

15 Second Prizes:  An overnight get-away for two to the La Quinta of Danbury.

34 Third Prizes:  A certificate for two bottles of wine from a 2016 passport-participating Connecticut farm winery.*

A few perks for those that obtain at least 34 stamps...

Anyone who obtains with at least 34 stamps will be in an exclusive drawing for the first grand prize. With the chance of a positive outcome increased threefold, it is worth the commitment. As we added last year, this elite group of dedicated wine passport participants who have at least 34 stamps in their passport will also be entered into a second drawing exclusively for them: You and up to seven other guests will enjoy a limousine chauffeured ride in style to the Connecticut Wine Festival in Goshen, Sunday, July of that festival. What a great way to spend a day with family or friends.  Anyone who obtains 34-35 stamps will be entered into a drawing to win all additional prizes.*

For those with 16-33 stamps...

You will be entered into a drawing for the Grand Prize #2, and the first, second, and third place prizes.*

You do need to be at least 21 years of age to take advantage of the program.  You must be present to get your Passport stamped. We only allow one Passport per person in the drawing. Don't forget your ID!

The program begins annually the first Friday in May and ends the first weekend in November so get those Passports in on time! The complete rules of the program can be found in the Passport.
