DOAG: Farmers' Market at the Hartford Regional Market

The Farmers' Market at the Regional Market

An expansive and unique farmers’ market administered by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture has operated for decades on the grounds of the Regional Market and continues to offer a shopping experience unlike any other available today.  Limited wholesale hours run between 4:00 and 8:00 a.m. during the week and from 4:00 to 6:00 a.m. on weekends.  Retail hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and offer the greatest selection to the general public.

The Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend is traditionally the busiest market day of the year, when consumers flock to the market to shop for trees, hanging plants, shrubs, perennials, and bedding plants.  In summer and fall, shoppers can find a wide variety of fruits and vegetables along with an assortment of other products such as cut flowers, honey, eggs, and maple syrup.  Some items may be available through an extended season.

For a successful trip to the farmers' market, please remember that most vendors do not have credit card capabilities.  If buying heavy plants or large quantities, please bring a wagon or cart to help you transport your purchases back to your vehicle (carts are not provided at the market).  Farmers may sell out before the market ends at 9:00 a.m.--arrive early for best selection.
