Extension for Farm Viability Grantees:

New Application Deadline is December 9, 2013

 

New application deadline for the Farm Viablity Grant which is open to municipalities and agricultural non-profits, has been set for December 9, 2013 (former deadline was November 8, 2013.)

 

Priority will be given to those applications that demonstrate commitment and show that their project support objectives in state statute.  Examples of such projects include:

        farmers markets structures and promotions;

        town signs promoting preserved farmland and their production farms;

        cost of community service studies that demonstrate importance of agriculture;

        other capital projects that will foster agriculture viability such as processing facilities;

        development and implementation of agriculture friendly land use regulations and local farmland protection strategies;

        development of town agriculture commissions;

        support and infrastructure for town farms, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and community gardens. 

 

$49,999 is the applicant limit and must be matched with cash or in-kind services.
