Resolving a Suspension
 
 
 
Holiday Schedule:  On Friday, July 1, DMV offices will close at 12:30 p.m. for the Independence Day holiday.  Offices will reopen on Tuesday, July 5, at 7:45 a.m.
 
There are no in-person suspension or restoration transactions conducted at any branch office of the Department of Motor Vehicles. 
 
 
If there are any other documents required for restoration they must be mailed to:

Driver Services Division
60 State Street
Wethersfield, CT  06161-2525
 
Normal processing time is 10 business days from the date the Driver Services Division receives your correspondence.
 
To pay your restoration fee by mail, send a check or money order payable to DMV in the amount of $175.00 for each suspended item to the above address.
 
Please provide your name, date of birth, and current address with all correspondence. If your address has changed, you may complete and submit a change of address form
  
Please note: You are not permitted to drive a motor vehicle until your driving privilege is restored and you have a valid driver license or learner permit in your possession.
 
After you are reinstated, a restoration notice will be mailed to you.
 
 
If you were issued a Connecticut non-driver ID card during your suspension and you previously held a Connecticut driver license, you may exchange the ID and have your Connecticut driver's license reissued.
