Currently, the DMV has Motor Vehicle Agents who oversee the Emissions testing stations throughout the State of Connecticut.

The agent duties include but are not limited to dealing with customers and test station owners on a daily basis; processing waiver requests, conducting challenge tests as well as monitoring test stations for contract compliance.  This includes observing the contractor’s test procedures and how the contractor handles customers.  The agents also conduct physical inspections of vehicles as well as test facility locations.  Agents also perform covert audits, attempt mediation and the resolution of complaints when necessary, conduct verbal and written customer surveys and respond to customer questions.
