Lapse in Surety Bond and/or Insurance
for Licensed Dealers and Repairers
 

***Holiday Closing***:  On Friday, December 22, DMV offices will close at 12:30 p.m. to observe the Christmas Day holiday, and remain closed on Saturday, December 23.  Offices will reopen on Tuesday, December 26 at 7:45 a.m.

 
As of July 1, 2017, in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Section 14-52(b), lapse in surety bond for dealers, and 14-58(c) lapse in insurance for dealers, as amended, any lapse in the insurance/surety bond will require the payment of a $ 200.00 administrative fee in addition to any other civil penalties authorized in section 14-64 for a lapse.
 
This fee must be paid prior to conducting any license related transactions.
 
IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATE YOUR DEALER AND/OR REPAIRER LICENSE WILL BE SUSPENDED.

Upon suspension of your license, all plates and other license items must immediately be returned to the DMV, or any authorized representative of the DMV may enter your licensed location and seize them.
