SERVICE UPDATE: All Department of Motor Vehicles offices and the DMV Cheshire Testing Center WILL BE CLOSED SATURDAY, JANUARY 24, 2015, due to expected poor weather conditions from snow and ice. Offices will re-open on their next regular next business day, which is Tuesday, at 7:45 a.m. 
 
Anyone with scheduled road skills test appointments can call DMV to select new date. Customers with a learner's permit test appointment should wait for an e-mail from DMV that will explain how to reschedule the permit test appointment online.
 
You may renew your license on or as early as 120 days (four months) prior to your license expiration date.  AAA offices do not process CDLs or public passenger endorsements.

  • Your current license.
  • Your renewal application form that you received in the mail.
  • For customers choosing a "verified" renewal: Your required documents for a "verified" license through Real ID Program.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Holders: Provide printed confirmation notice of self-certification with DMV.
