DMV: DMV to Stop Taking Road Test Appointments on October 21 and October 23, and Will Resume October 24

DMV to Stop Taking Road Test Appointments
on October 21 and October 23, and Will Resume October 24

The Department of Motor Vehicles on Tuesday, October 24, will launch its new online system for making road test appointments. To prepare for that change, customers will be unable to make road test appointments Saturday and Monday (Sunday has never been available for making appointments) as the agency transitions to the new, convenient and online-only appointment system.  The new online system was announced earlier this month (See below for reference).

Appointments for road tests are usually made by calling the DMV Customer Service Phone Center or while at the DMV to obtain a learnerís permit.  By moving appointment-making to only online, DMV wants to eliminate on-hold-times for those calling to schedule them as well as help phone center operators handle more questions on various other DMV-related matters.

Appointments can made tomorrow (Friday) at DMV offices or by calling the agency.  The Telephone Center numbers are 860-263-5700 (within the Hartford area or outside of Connecticut) and 800-842-8222 (elsewhere in Connecticut). For more information, visit ct.gov/dmv
