Affective Disorders Program

The Affective Disorders Program is responsible for the provision of comprehensive outpatient services to approximately 275 individuals who carry the diagnoses of Bipolar Disorder with or without substance abuse and Major Depressive Disorder. The team provides a full spectrum of modalities and assessments including individual, family, couples, and group psychotherapy. Added to these traditional models of therapy are clinical case management services. Treatment is provided within a multidisciplinary team representing psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and social work. In addition, the team is committed to the goals of conducting clinical research and to the training of interns and students in the mental health disciplines.

The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with flexibility of clinicians to accommodate needs for later or earlier appointments when necessary. Off-hours, weekends and holidays, and emergency services are provided by CMHC Acute Services and by the CMHC on-call system.
