DESPP has been notified by the Department of Administrative
Services that the test scores for all applicants who sat for the written
examination for the State Police Trooper Trainee and Protective Services
Trainee between the dates of April 20, 2017 and May 6, 2017 has been delayed until further notice.

- Positions requiring an exam list: You must have taken and passed an examination for your name to be placed on a certification list. NOTE: You must still submit an Application for Employment to DESPP in order to be considered for vacancies. Please be advised that you may reapply for any future vacancies.
General Application Instructions:
For all applicants: You must indicate the Position Title, listed on top of each job announcement (see Employment Opportunities List) on the first page of your application (CT-HR-12) and also fill out the criminal conviction addendum (CT-HR-13). All Applications for Employment must include the applicant’s Social Security Number for tracking purposes.
Applications received without a Position Title will not be processed.
For external applicants who are not DESPP employees: You must submit a Cover Letter, a completed State Application for Employment (CT-HR-12), a completed Criminal Conviction Addendum (CT-HR-13), a resume, and two (2) current letters of professional reference.
For internal DESPP employees: You must submit a Cover Letter, a completed State Application for Employment (CT-HR-12), a completed Criminal Conviction Addendum (CT-HR-13), a resume, and your last two (2) Performance Evaluations.

Background Checks: For all new hires, DESPP requires the verification of the accuracy of information presented on the employment application and during the interview process.
In addition, the following checks will be required: a motor vehicle records check, a criminal fingerprint check (both Connecticut and FBI), as well as a State Police Background check will be conducted.
