Troopers Investigate I-95 Milford Rest Area Shooting Incident

MILFORD, CT (July 22, 2016) – Troopers from Troop G in Bridgeport worked through the night investigating a suspicious shooting incident that occurred at an I-95 rest area.

On July 22, 2016 at approximately 2:03 a.m., Troop G received reports of a suspicious incident at the I-95 Southbound Milford Rest Area. Upon investigating, Troopers observed a single bullet hole within the driver's side of a tractor trailer that was parked in the rear lot of the Rest Area. Troopers spoke to several witnesses, seized evidence and were able to obtain surveillance footage. A review of the surveillance footage within the Rest Area revealed a shirtless heavyset white male wearing blue jeans and tan work boots walking around the area just prior to reports of gunfire. The white male was operating a tan colored Ford Super Duty style extended cab pickup truck with rooftop lighting.

Also observed walking around the area was a passenger in the Ford pickup truck; she is described as a white female, with dark colored hair, wearing dark pants and a dark t-shirt. The male and female were observed leaving the I-95 Southbound Milford Rest Area in the tan colored Ford Super Duty at a high rate of speed. No injuries were reported on scene. It is believed that only a single gunshot was fired during this incident. The operator of the tractor trailer is not believed to be connected with the male and female individuals observed on surveillance. This incident remains under investigation.
