STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE COLUMBIA HOME INVASION

 

   On 07/24/14, shortly after 2:00 a.m., State Police received a 911 call from 51 Oakwood Lane in Columbia.  The caller reported that there were people in his home with weapons.   The caller was secreted in a bedroom of the home.  Troopers responded to the scene and upon arrival did determine that the two suspects had fled the area.

   The victim was assaulted by the two suspects and received minor non-life threatening injury. He was treated at the scene and transported by EMS to area hospital where he was treated and released. 

   Troopers conducted an extensive search of the scene utilizing State Police K-9 teams and additional manpower. All surrounding police agencies were notified of the description of the two suspects.  The suspects are  described as two males:  #1 is described as 55, wearing dark clothes and dark knit cap and in possession of a handgun;  suspect #2 is reported to be 59, dark knit cap and in possession of a long gun.

   State Police Eastern District Major Crime Detectives responded to this scene to conduct the investigation into the incident. Detectives processed the crime scene and gathered any physical and forensic evidence. 

   State Police investigators have developed information in this case and are continuing to follow leads. The investigation is active and continuing.
