STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE MONTVILLE HOME INVASION
 

   On 6/5/14, at 11:06 p.m., State Police at Troop E received a 911 call reporting that a subject had been shot in a private home located at #202 Maple Avenue in Montville.

 

   State Troopers and EMS responded to the scene and found a male subject that had been shot in the back. The wounded subject reported that two masked males had entered his residence struck him in the head, and forced him into the kitchen area of the residence. The male subject attempted to run out of the house and was shot by one of the suspects in the back. The wounded subject was provided emergency care at the scene and was transported to Backus Hospital and is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

 

   A female resident was in the home and was not injured.

 

   Troopers searched the area for the suspects and provided information to surrounding police of the incident. The State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to conduct this investigation.  The crime scene was processed and physical and forensic evidence was collected. State Police Detectives are currently following leads and information developed in this case.

 

   Anyone who observed anything or anyone in the area of Maple Avenue in Montville is asked to contact State Police at (860) 848-6500.  All calls will be kept confidential.

 

   State Police are continuing this investigation.
