STATE POLICE ARREST CONVICTED FELON ATTEMPTING TO SELL FIREARMS

During the afternoon hours of April 3, 2014, the Sprague Resident Trooper, Trooper First Class R. Silvestri, developed information that a Chaz St. George and a female were looking to sell AR-15 style rifles. TFC Silvestri learned that St. George and a female had two rifles in a car that they were driving. TFC Silvestri determined that St. George is a convicted felon and is not to be in possession of firearms.

TFC Silvestri and Troopers from Troop E, along with assistance from members of the Connecticut State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), observed St. George and the female walking to the suspect vehicle which contained the firearms.

TFC Silvestri and TFC Chivers approached St. George and the female and were able to determine that two rifles were in the back passenger compartment of the vehicle.

After inspecting the firearms, it was determined that one rifle qualified as an Assault Weapon.  In speaking with both parties, it was determined that St. George and the female did not have legal rights to sell the firearms and that they had been taken from an acquaintance of the female, without the acquaintance's knowledge.

Both St. George and the female identified as Falicia Viscione were taken into custody for the above charges.  Viscione was later released on a non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court at GA-21 in Norwich on 4/17/14.  Chaz St. George was held on $100,000.00 bond and will be presented in court at GA-21 in Norwich on 4/4/14.

This investigation is active and on-going.
