On 04/01/14, shortly after 5:00 a.m., members of the Connecticut State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Gangs Unit executed search warrants at 1670 Iranistan Ave, 3rd Floor, Bridgeport, and 286 Maplewood Ave, 3rd Floor, Bridgeport, based on an extensive investigation into narcotics and weapons violations.

The search and seizure warrant applications were submitted by State Police Detectives to Superior Court.  The court issued the search warrants, which were executed this morning.

In addition, State Police detectives submitted three arrest warrant applications to the court.  All three arrest warrants were issued by the court for the arrest of the three accused.

The arrest warrants for George Smith (DOB 12/12/79), Courtney Christensen (DOB 01/26/94), and Conta-Nina Dwight (DOB 01/24/94) of the above addresses were served at the time of the search for charges related to prior sales and conspiracy to distribute narcotics.

The search of these premises caused Detectives to seize: $3,935.00 in U.S. Currency, $70.00 in suspected counterfeit U.S. Currency, 123.1 grams of “crack” cocaine, assorted drug paraphernalia and packaging materials, two loaded semi-automatic handguns, and an electronic “Stun-gun” weapon.

Three juveniles ages 2 months, 8 years and 12 years old were in the residences.  The Department of Family Services (DCF) was contacted and responded to the scene.

Based on the evidence discovered during the warrant execution, George Smith a convicted felon, was subsequently charged with narcotics violations, weapons violations, forgery, and risk of injury to minors. He was held on a total of $600,000 bonds and transported to Bridgeport CC to await a court appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
