Arrested:     Ernest Lamiotte (DOB: 01/01/1987)

         35 Potvin Street Moosup, CT


Crimes:       Robbery 1st Degree, Breach of Peace 2" Degree (2Counts), Larceny 6th and Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery 2nd


   On 02/24/2014, at 2025 hours, Troopers from Troop D in Danielson responded to a robbery at the Xtra-Mart located 439 Hartford Tpk. in Killingly. Upon arrival, Troopers met with the clerk who stated that a white male about 25-30 years old wearing a tan Carhartt jacket and a black winter hat came into the store telling the clerk to empty the register and that he would give her half. The clerk told the suspect to leave threatening to sound an alarm. The suspect left the store going south towards Railroad Avenue. EDMCS assigned to Troop D was requested to conduct the investigation. 

   The same evening, a
t 2149 hours, Troopers responded to a second robbery at the Xtra-Mart located at 19 Putnam Road in Pomfret with a white male matching that same description as the first incident. Upon Troopers arrival, it was determined that a white male matching the description from the earlier robbery had gone into the store implying that he had a weapon and taking money from the register. The suspect left the store going east on Putnam Road. Troopers quickly responded to Pomfret actively patrolling the area. 

   The suspect was located on Woodstock Road just north of Putnam Road and identified as, Ernest Lamiotte (01/01/1987). The suspect was identified by video surveillance and witnesses at the scene as the one who had robbed the Pomfret Xtra-Mart. A State Police K-9 was dispatched to the scene conducting a track for evidence, recovering money taken from the store. 

   After an investigation Detectives were able to identify Lamiotte as the person who was involved in the Killingly Xtra-Mart attempted robbery. Lamiotte was placed under arrest and charged with the above crimes for both robberies. Lamiotte was held on a $10,000.00 cash/surety bond for the Killingly Attempted Robbery and $50,000.00 cash/surety bond for the Pomfret Robbery. Lamiotte was given a court date for 02/25/2014 at GA. 11.
