STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST FOR RISK OF INJURY, ASSAULT
On May 31, 2013, members of the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad at Troop C were assigned to investigate an assault on a five-month-old baby who had received numerous unexplained injuries consisting of new fractures as well as ones in the process of healing. Detectives conducted the investigation which ultimately led to an arrest warrant being issued for the father of the child.
On October 21, 2013, State Police arrested the following individual and charged him with the following crimes:
ARRESTED: DAVID SAEGAERT, DOB 08-26-94
414 WARRENVILLE Road
CHARGES: ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE, C.G.S. 53A-59(A)(1).
RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR, C.G.S. 53-21(1)
Saegaert was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and was presented the next day in Danielson Court, GA-11.
The State Department of Children and Families was involved in the investigation of the case and took temporary custody of the child. The child is expected to make a full recovery from the injuries.
