STATE POLICE MAKE NARCOTICS ARREST ON INTERSTATE 91

On 10/17/2013, at approximately 7:21 a.m., a DMV Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 south near exit 18 in Meriden.  Upon requesting the operator for basic information, the operator retrieved drug paraphernalia.  The DMV Officer called for State Police assistance to handle the narcotic aspect of the investigation and the occupants of the vehicle were detained.

A State Police narcotic detection K-9 unit was contacted from Troop F to respond to assist Troop I personnel.  This K-9 search revealed positive alerts on areas within the vehicle.  The investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle was in possession of approximately 8 ounces of marijuana packaged in various containers.  Two (2) small glassine bottles contained liquid cannabis identified by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force personnel.  Numerous drug paraphernalia items were seized to include a narcotics scale, bags and twist ties along with additional items. The operator was also in possession of $550.00 cash which was seized.  The vehicle was towed and secured at Troop I.

The accused was identified as Kyle Mount, DOB 09/18/91 of 9 Stephanie Lane, South Windsor.  He was processed at Troop I and later released on a $2,500.00 non-surety bond to appear at GA-7 in Meriden on 10-31-2013 @ 0900 hours.
