STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SEX ASSAULTS IN MANSFIELD
On October 12 at 12:03 a.m., Connecticut State Police at Troop C Tolland received a 911 call from a female caller who reported that an assault had taken place in the area of Hunting Lodge Road in the town of Mansfield. The Mansfield Resident Trooper’s office responded and Troop C Troopers responded to the complaint. Upon their arrival, Troopers observed a large party with numerous intoxicated college students running into the woods and backyard from the scene.
Troopers’ initial investigation revealed that two female victims reported they were forced into a wood line and sexually assaulted by two unknown black males. The scene was secured and the area was searched by responding Troopers. Area police departments were advised of this incident and investigation.
Both victims were transported to Windham Memorial Hospital.in Willimantic for treatment.
State Police Major Crime Detectives also responded to the crime scene to conduct this criminal investigation. Detectives processed the crime scene, seized physical and forensic evidence. In addition several witnesses were also interviewed. NO weapons were involved in this incident and no other injuries were reported.
State Police have developed information and leads in this case. Troopers are asking anyone who has any information regarding this assault to contact Troop C at (860) 896-3200. All calls will be kept confidential.
