STATE POLICE SEEK HELP LOCATING DRIVER IN LEDYARD HIT AND RUN

 

   On Friday, September 6, 2013, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Officers assigned to the Ledyard Resident Trooper’s Office received a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in front of the Ledyard Mobil on Route 117 (Colonel Ledyard Highway).

 

   As a result of being struck, the adult male pedestrian was treated at the scene by the Ledyard Fire Department and Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad before being transported to the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of  non- life threatening injuries.

 

   According to multiple witnesses, the vehicle which struck the pedestrian stopped to check on his condition, but left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services. Witnesses describe the vehicle as a light blue or silver 2008-2013 Audi A4 or A6 with tinted windows. They describe the driver as a light skinned black or Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, short hair, goatee, baseball cap on backwards and glasses.

 

   The Ledyard Police Department continues to investigate this accident. Anyone with information regarding the vehicle or its operator, is urged to contact the Ledyard Police Department at (860) 464-6400 or Troop E at (860) 848-6500.  All calls will be kept confidential.
