CONNECTICUT STATE TROOPERS CONTINUE DUI ENFORCEMENT EFFORT
On Thursday, September 5, 2013, the Connecticut State Police Traffic Services Unit will conduct roving DUI enforcement patrols on several interstate highways in central Connecticut.
The assigned Troopers will meet at the State Police Training Academy in Meriden at 6:30 p.m. where a briefing will be held. Immediately after the roll call briefing, Troopers will deploy into the field to focus on I-91, I-691, as well as Rt. 15 and Rt. 9. This enforcement operation will continue until approximately 1:00 a.m.
The State Police Bat Mobile (Jail on wheels) will be stationed at the State Police Training Academy. Any person taken into custody for DUI will be taken to the BAT mobile for processing by Troopers during this operation.
The primary focus of this operation is to seek out and remove any drivers who are under the influence. This is to reinforce the fact that driving any vehicle after consumption of alcohol is dangerous to everyone and is against the law.
All motorists are asked to please call 911 if you see a suspected drunk or reckless driver.
