On August 2, 2013, just before 5:00 p.m., Connecticut State Police from Troop A and New Fairfield Resident Troopers Koeppel and McKeon responded to the Webster Bank, 1 Brush Hill Road, in New Fairfield for the report of an active hold-up alarm activation.

Upon arrival, it was learned that the bank
had just been robbed by a white male who passed a note to the bank teller demanding money.  There were no weapons displayed or implied.  The teller handed over an undetermined amount of cash to the accused and the accused fled from the bank in an unknown vehicle.

The area of the bank was searched for the suspect and evidence in this crime. The initial investigation identified several witnesses and leads to pursue in this case. A witness had taken a photograph of a possible suspectís vehicle with a cell phone prior to the robbery as the witness thought the suspect was acting suspiciously.

All area police were advised of the search for the suspect and suspect vehicle. The information led Troopers to the suspect, a New Fairfield resident. Troopers and town officers searched the area and neighborhood of the suspect and located the suspect vehicle occupied by the male suspect as he suddenly returned to the area of his residence.

Troopers initiated a felony custody arrest and the accused was removed from his vehicle.  While being taken into custody, the accused suffered minor scrapes to his knees which were treated at the scene by EMS.  The accused was then transported to Danbury Hospital under State Police guard where he was treated and released.

State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to process the crime scene and to collect physical and forensic evidence.  A search of the accused and his vehicle discovered currency taken in the robbery and other items of evidence.

The accused was transported to Troop A in Southbury where he was processed and formally charged.  The accused is being held on $50,000 bond to appear in Danbury Superior Court Monday 08/05/13 to answer the charges.
