STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS DEATH IN STERLING
On May 25, 2013, at approximately 12:15 a.m., State Police Troopers and EMS responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Plainfield Pike Route 14A, east of Church Street in Sterling, Ct. Upon arrival, Troopers discovered a minor motor vehicle accident. EMS personnel pronounced the operator dead at the scene.
Additional investigation by Troopers revealed a discrepancy between the mechanism of injury and vehicle damage. Troopers determined that the operator had suffered chest injury not related to the crash.
The investigation determined a secondary scene where a verbal dispute took place and resulted in the operator's sustained injury. That initial scene was secured and Troopers also secured that secondary location as a crime scene.
State Police Eastern District Major Crime Detectives responded to initiate this criminal investigation. Detectives processed the scenes, collecting forensic and physical evidence, In addition, State Police interviewed witnesses in this crime.
The deceased has been identified as MARCUS BRISBANE, DOB 3/4/73, WOLCOTT RD, WETHERSFIELD,Ct.
A post mortem examination at the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will be conducted on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, to determine the exact manner and cause of death.
