STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN MISSING PERSON CASE
On May 17, 2013, State Troopers assigned to K-9 duty were conducting a search in the town of Trumbull in a wooded area off of Quarry Road. Both search and rescue and cadaver dogs were being utilized in this search. At approximately 10:00 a.m., a cadaver dog alerted on what appears to be human remains.
The scene was secured by Trooper assisted by Trumbull Police. Additional State Police Cadaver K-9 teams continued to search the area.
State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the criminal investigation. The scene was processed and forensic and physical evidence was identified and collected.
The remains have been identified as ALYSSIAH MARIE WILEY, D.O.B. 11/24/92. The identity was made by the Connecticut State Forensic Lab in Meriden using DNA.
Troopers submitted to the Bridgeport State’s Attorney Office both search and seizure warrants and an arrest warrant application pursuant to the lengthy investigation into the disappearance of ALYSSIAH WILEY.
Search warrant and an arrest warrant were issued by Bridgeport Superior Court for the arrest of the accused in this case. Items of evidence were seized from that location 115 Beardsley Park Terr Bridgeport. .
At 3:00 p.m., the accused in this case surrendered to State Police Detectives at Troop G. He was processed and remains in custody.

Accused is being held on $2 million bond to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday, May 20, 2013.
