On March 10, 2013, the Connecticut State Police were requested by the
Bridgeport State’s Attorney’s Office to investigate a custodial
interference case concerning the custody of a two (2) year-old child.
The Central and Western District Major Crime Squads, along with the assistance
of Troop “G” Bridgeport personnel, executed a search and seizure warrant
at the last known residence of the child, which was located in Bridgeport. As a
result of information obtained during the search the minor child was located
at another residence in Bridgeport in the care of the paternal grandmother.
The child was subsequently returned to the custody of his mother.
As a result of further investigative efforts, Detectives applied for, and
were granted, an arrest warrant charging Johnny M. Devone, the grandfather
of the child, with the violations listed above.
Devone turned himself in at Troop “I” Bethany on Monday, March 25, 2013,
on this outstanding warrant. He was processed and released on a Written
Promise to Appear, with an assigned court date of 04/04/2013
