NORTH STONINGTON RESIDENT TROOPERS MAKE ARRESTS AT CHECKPOINT

On March 17, 2013, Resident Troopers from North Stonington along with Troopers from Troop E in Montville were conducting a State Police DUI checkpoint along Route 2 near Wheeler High School in North Stonington. At approximately 10 p.m., a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee entered the checkpoint. State Troopers approached the vehicle and identified both the driver, Nicole Gauthier and the front seat passenger, Adonis Cossia.
Adonis Cossia was initially found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. State Troopers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered over three pounds of marijuana, approximately $400 dollars and over 1,200 plastic baggies used for packaging. These items, along with the vehicle, were seized by State Police.
Cossia was held on a $50,000 cash bond and will appear at GA-10 in New London on Monday March 18, 2013.
