STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ASSAULT AT CASINO

{Casino Assault}

{Casino Assault}

   On Saturday, March 2, 2013, at approximately 3:10 a.m. a female was approached by a male suspect at the Mohegan Sun Casino hotel.

   The suspect offered to sell illegal narcotics to the female victim.  The victim agreed to take out money from an ATM for the narcotics. She then followed the suspect out to the Winter garage and to a parking lot. She gave the suspect money for the narcotics.  The suspect grabbed the victim by the arm and dragged her across Cove Road into a wooded area.

   There was a brief struggle as the suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim.  The suspect then fled the area on foot. The victim returned to the casino via the Winter garage and notified State Police.

   Responding Troopers conducted search of the area with negative results. However, they located items of evidentiary value.  The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at Backus Hospital.

   The Casino surveillance unit was able to track the victim and suspect on video throughout the casino and produced still photographs from the video.

   Anyone with information about the suspect in this case is asked to call State Police at (860)848-6534.
