STATE AND LOCAL POLICE MAKE NARCOTICS ARREST IN PUTNAM
After a detailed and extensive investigation, State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force Detectives, with assistance of the State Police Troop D “Quality of Life Task Force,” have been conducting a criminal investigation into the illegal sale of heroin & marijuana from a residence located at 19 Corbin Street in Putnam.
As a result of this investigation, SNTF narcotics detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant from Superior Court and on 2/21/13 SNTF Detectives, Troop D Troopers, and Putnam Police Officers executed a narcotics-related search and seizure warrant at the above mentioned address.
Seized by investigators from the residence was approximately 2.3 pounds of marijuana, 15 grams of heroin all prepackaged for sale, Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills, along with packaging material, scales and other drug paraphernalia items along with $2,100.00 in U.S. currency. Investigators also discovered & seized a Ruger .22 caliber rifle.
Arrested was the target of this investigation Julio Echevarria DOB: 08/01/1980 of 19 Corbin Street Putnam. A 16-year-old juvenile was discovered at the residence. DCF was contacted and responded to the scene.
Accused Echevarria was transported to State Police Troop D Danielson where he was charged with Possession of Narcotics (21a-279a), Possession of Narcotics WITS (21a-278b), and Possession of Marijuana greater than 4 ounces (21a-279c), Possession of Marijuana WITS (21a-279b), and Risk of Injury to a Minor 53-21 and Criminal Possession of a Firearm 53a-217.
ECHEVARRIA was held on a $75,000 cash/surety bond with a schedule court date of 02/22/2013 in GA. 11 Danielson Superior Court.
